- A re-certification cost of 20% applies to returns of ballistic and bulletproof products.
- The 20% recertification covers the cost of ensuring the armor is safe. Usually starting with X-Raying the armor for cracks underneath the coating, inspection for damage, and water damage testing. Without this 20%, we would not be able to offer returns on armor.
- There is no way for us to know how or if it was used once shipped, and we have to consider them unsafe until retested, inspected and certified.
- Exchanges and non-ballistic products do not have a re-certification cost.

My son loves the jan sport backpack. Perfect size. The leather on bottom of bag gives extra support and protection. Perfect size for middle school or high school. My son doesn't use a locker at school so his backpack is stuffed and heavy already. The bullet proof insert even though we got the light version, is very heavy with all his books. But I use it in my purse to go to movies or malls and the weight is fine. Next time there is a school shooting Im sure he will be relieved he has this extra protection. Im relieved we have this shield in our home whenever we feel we want the safety.

My child just started middle school and he loves his backpack. It’s not too heavy and has many pockets. My hope is that he will never actually need it in a hostile situation but I feel better with him having at school.
I have shared with all in my parent group the need to act since the schools are not protecting them.

Leaving the politics of even feeling the need to get these backpacks OUT of this conversation, we received these very quickly after they were shipped, the quality is exactly what you'd expect from Jansport (high quality) and while these were the lightweight ones, they'll honestly still be a bit of a workout for my 11 year old going into middle school who will presumably have a lot more books than hes used to (but should be ok for my 9 year old elementary student). HOWEVER - I would purchase these a million times over. Anytime I've contacted Atomic Defense they were lightening fast in responding, super polite, knew exactly what status my order was in, and I am over all super pleased with this purchase. I hope I never have to write a review on how well it holds up to bullets. This is a Definite DO for anyone on the fence because the *little bit* more peace of mind I have sending my kids back to school this year is worth the cost.
